Embassy of India, Embassy of Bangladesh and Tagore Society of Korea jointly organized the 158th birth anniversary celebrations of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Seoul. Ambassador Sripriya Ranganathan recalled the contribution and relevance of Gurudev in the freedom struggle of India, the inspiration provided by his poem ‘Lamp of the East’ for Korea's freedom struggle and emphasized that he has been a strong thread bringing the people of India and Korea together. Bangladeshi Ambassador Abida Islam recalled Tagore’s contribution and influence in Bangladesh and emphasized that his writings and philosophy are at the core of Bangladesh as a nation. Tagore Society founder Padma Shri Mrs. Kim Yang Shik recited select poems of Tagore at the ceremony.
