Hon'bleRakshaMantri, on the final day of his official engagements in RoK on September 6, 2019, had a series of engagements with Korean and Indian Defense companies. In the CEOs Forum, over 25 Indian and Korean companies engaged in the defense sector made presentations on their products and capabilities and also shared their views on policy measures that are required to boost the partnership in the defense realm. In his remarks, RM highlighted the measures taken by Government of India to liberalize the defense sector and adopt policy measures to boost the "Make in India" initiative in the Defense sector. He encouraged Indian and RoK companies to actively collaborate with each other and assured them of complete support from the Government. Representatives from the State Governments of UP and TN made presentations on defense corridors. RM invited RoK companies to participate in the DefExpo in UP in February 2020. Mr Wang Jung-hong, Minister, Defense Acquisition and Program Administration, RoK assured that he would encourage Korean companies to actively explore Indian opportunities. Minister Wang later joined RM and General Park Han-ki, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, at a banquet hosted by Ambassador of India in honour of RM. 2 MoUs were signed between Hanwha Defense International and L&T and between Society of Indian Defense Manufacturers (SIDM) and Korea Defense Industries Association (KDIA).
