Ambassador H.E. Amit Kumar paid floral tribute to the legendary warrior from India, Lachit Barphukan on his 400th Birth Anniversary Celebrations organized at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Seoul. He also spoke about courage & patriotism of this great Ahom army general from north-eastern India who played a key role in defeating the mighty Mughal Empire in the Battle of Saraighat in 1671. A documentary on life & times of Lachit Barphukan was also screened on this occasion.

Dr. Sangeeta Gogoi shared her views on Mahabir Lachit Barphukan based on her research work on the Ethno-political study of the Ahom Kingdom in the colonial period. Dr. Sonu Trivedi, Director, SVCC moderated the session and introduced the great hero Mahabir Lachit Barphukan and his contributions in the making of Indian history to the local Korean community & Indian Diaspora in Republic of Korea.
