The Embassy of India, Seoul celebrated 74th Independence Day with fervour at the Swami Vivekanand Cultural Center (SVCC) building located in the Embassy premise. The event started with Ambassador Ms. Sripriya Ranganathan hoisting the National flag followed by singing of National Anthem. After that the Ambassador read out the speech delivered by the Hon'ble President of India delivered to the nation on the eve of 74th Independence Day. Considering the COVID-19 situation and respecting the health advisories issued by the local government, this year the Embassy celebrated the vent by expanding our reach to Indian community members across the ROK through digital means. About 250 members of the Indian community living in ROK attended the celebration online. A group of members of Indian community from Suwon and Pocheon sang patriotic songs and performed online. During the event, Embassy distributed Rakhis among the members of the Indian community. Swami Vivekanand Cultural Center (SVCC) had organised a quiz competition on the occasion of 74th Independence day of India. The names of the winners were announced during the event. The official proceedings of the entire event was streamed live on Embassy of India's social media handle.
