The Embassy organized a briefing session for the Korean businesses in the food sector on the upcoming 3rd edition of World Food India (WFI ) on 28 May 2024 at Seoul. The third edition of WFI is scheduled to be held at New Delhi from 19-22 September 2024.
WFI is a flagship event of the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) in the Government of India. It aims to introduce rich Indian food culture to the world as well as promote business and investment opportunities in Indian food processing sector, expected to reach USD 535 billion by 2025-26.
Sh Ranjit Singh, Joint Secretary, MoFPI virtually delivered special remarks and gave a broad overview of WFI as well as business and investment opportunities in India’s food processing sector. Encouraged participating Korean businesses to take advantage of excellent networking opportunities offered by the event, with expected participation of all stakeholders across the food sector value chain in India. On behalf of the Ambassador, Mr. Nishi Kant Singh, Deputy Chief of Mission, welcomed the participating Korean businesses.
Invest India made a presentation on the key elements of the upcoming third edition of World Food India, namely industry roundtables, B2B, B2G, G2G,Reverse Buyers Sellers Meet etc. Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) briefed participating businesses about the procedures for participation in terms of setting up exhibition booths, etc. Engaging discussions over Q&A session by participating in Korean businesses bears testimony to the growing interests of Korean businesses in the growing Indian market.
